NewsQuarter peal at All SaintsOn Sunday 1st September 2013, a quarter peal of 1260 Plain Bob Doubles was rung on the front six bells at All Saints before the evening service. The band comprised: Graham Paul 1, Colin Sampson 2, Kevin Browne 3, Barbara Starmer 4, Bridget Paul 5 and Jennie Higson 6. Bridget Paul conducted the quarter peal which took 46 minutes to complete. Yorkshire ringers visit NorthamptonOn Sunday 25th August a band led by C Barrie Dove, President of the Yorkshire Association of Change Ringers, met at All Saints at 1pm to attempt to ring a peal of Lincolnshire Surprise Royal. The attempt was successful and the peal was completed in 2 hours and 56 minutes. Royal birth celebratedThe recent birth of HRH Prince George of Cambridge was celebrated by the ringing of a quarter peal of 1250 Cambridge Surprise Major by Northampton Ringers society members on Sunday 4th August 2013. The quarter peal took forty nine minutes to complete and was rung before to the evening service. The ringers taking part were as follows: 1 Kevin Browne, 2 Jennie Higson, who conducted the ringing, 3 John Lindsay, 4 Colin Brown, 5 Brett Masters, 6 Nicholas Parsons, 7 Colin Sampson, 8 Graham Paul. New Incumbent at St GilesThe service of Institution and Induction of Rev Stephen Kelly took place in the church on Sunday 21st July 2013 being led by the Bishop of Peterborough. Ringing took place both before and after the service with all ten bells being rung on both occasions. Ringing during August 2013There will be no open service ringing or practices at any of the Town Centre churches during August 2013. |
