On Friday 1st, All Saint's Day, twelve members of Northampton Ringers Society met to ring call changes on ten and Grandsire Triples before a special evening service. Immediately the bells had been lowered, All Saints Steeple Keeper, Peter Craddock, assisted by Greg Jordan, half-muffled the back eight bells, and these were rung the following day to Plain Bob Triples, Grandsire Triples and call changes before an All Soul's Day service at mid-day. The muffles were removed when ringing had finished and on the following day, Sunday 3rd, a quarter peal of 1260 Plain Bob Doubles was rung prior to a service of Choral Evensong and Benediction within the octave of All Saints. Society members taking part were: 1 Marian Johnson (who was ringing her first quarter peal), 2 Bridget Paul, 3 Greg Jordan, 4 Graham Paul, 5 Nicholas Parsons (who conducted the ringing) and 6 Peter Craddock. Marian was congratulated by the other members of the band after the ringing. |
